OnTriggerEnter2D with multiple objects

So right now I am trying to make it so the player can't shoot until the enemy enters the trigger point and if the gameobject tag with enemy is in the trigger point then canshoot = true if not then canshoot is false. The only problem is that there will be times when there is more then one object inside of the trigger and it wont register that they are there. Does anyone know a way I could do this? Thank you all in advance.
